Partners arrived on Tuesday April 19th. Wednesday began with a Performance by the children from the junior section of the school. The classes performed fantastic movement and dance to both traditional and modern music. Each class was beautifully dressed in colourful costumes which added significantly to the occasion. It was also a wonderful family occasion with the auditorium packed with parents and families of the children. |

The welcome received from the children and teachers was warm and friendly. Much information on the Turkish system of education was gathered during the visit to the classrooms. |

In the afternoon the partners were taken to an Apple Candy Factory where they got an opportunity to experience and make traditional candy apples. Following a short display of the method of making the candy apples, the partners rolled up their sleeves and set about producing their own candy apples. Each partner school was presented with a beautiful candy apple which had the project logo inserted on the side. |

Friday was another busy day with visits to the Dolmabahce Palace and Miniaturk Park. Lunch overlooking the city of Istanbul was a highlight. The day was completed with a boat tour of the Bosphorus where, once again, our excellent guide gave us a thorough account of the historical and cultural importance of the many fantastic buildings and monuments which could be seen from the boat. A productive coordinators meeting rounded off the day. |
